Objective

The long-term public-private programme AiNed is taking the Netherlands into the leading group of AI countries and making a major contribution to the country’s competitive position internationally. An orchestrated approach is letting more companies and public institutions embark on developing and applying modern AI technology.

The largest possible economic growth and recovery is 1.6% GDP (as estimated by the McKinsey Global Institute, 2020). The programme will allow the Netherlands to maintain a strategic grip on the way AI is applied and the conditions imposed on such use.

Thanks to the AiNed programme, the Netherlands will have a strong AI ecosystem capable of rapid innovation of AI solutions by 2027 in the following areas:

  • The level of AI knowledge at all levels in education, business and society has improved greatly.
  • Solutions are available for developing reliable, human centric AI systems.
  • Sharing data between companies and the government for AI solutions has been greatly simplified.
  • The number of SMEs developing or adopting AI has doubled.
  • And Dutch companies have developed AI products, processes and services that are having an international impact, getting the Netherlands recognised as an excellent country for AI.
